Podcast #19:Full Market HIPs - DEA Roundtable

Postby MikeC on Sun Nov 25, 2007 4:57 pm

Forum regulars Alex Field (Energywise) and Jackie Oliver (THI) talk about about the shortcomings of HIPs after the Govt announced they will be rolled-out to 1 & 2 beds from 14th December 2007.

There's a lot to talk about this week!

- Shame on AHIPP!

We have a recorded statement from Quidos regarding the dispute with HES. In summary:

- Quidos filed for a Winding-up Petition on HES last Tuesday;
- DEA certificates of qualification will not be held back
- Accredited DEAs will not have their memberships suspended
- Call for industry self-regulation of training providers

- Grants Shapps (Shadow Housing Minister): What's his game then?

- Working Lunch: Tip o' the hat to David Thompson and Chris Evans

- Gordon Brown's big speech and new policies (Free home insulation, free low-energy lightbulbs and the new Green Homes Service...)

- What's happening at the Institute of Home Inspection?

Plus a shed-load more...

Listen/show-notes: HIPs Full Roll-Out - DEA Roundtable

Google Video (with fantastic cloud footage): HIPs Full Roll-Out - DEA Roundtable

Many thanks to Alex and Jackie for their participation at short notice.

First of all l would like to thank Mike for conducting this inrterview that clearly shows that Jackie Oliver is only interested in the HCR. she is however happy to carry out EPCs which clearly leaves a bad taste, and feels they are not relevent to the house selling process, but was quite happy to travel 25miles to do two or three.
l further got the impression EPCs are beneath her skill base.
And as for Alex Fields input to your Podcast l now hope the members can see what this lady is all about, and IMO its nothing relevent to the industry or the good of the DEA, I have to ask the question are you ALEX accredited? l cannot find you on Landmark and have you done any EPCs? therefore what makes you feel you can comment on an plight of DEAs and an industry you have not subscribed to?
This Podcast has answered many questions for me and reasured me that l was right to not to subcribe to IHI.

Code: Select all
SAVA / NHER 002087??

Chris, are you HI qualified??

Only you use SAVA in your signature which is for qualified Home Inspectors?? :?

Surely if you are 'just' a DEA you should 'just' use NHER - they are two different things! ??
